The Aomori Nebuta Festival is Japan's largest and most famous fire festival, and has been designed as one of the country's cultural assets. The observer can't help but be overwhelmed by the magnificent floats in the shape of warriors, the stirring musical accompaniment and the frenzied dancing of the "haneto" dancers. Not only do many of the citizens of Aomori burn off their energy at the festival which lasts from August 2nd to 7th every year, but it also attracts more than 3.5 million tourists from all over Japan.
